A good SAFE environment, high level technical instruction, solid class comradery, and good cardio in sparring and drilling moves. you will never want to leave the gym. And, OH YEA, the rest of the 15,000 sq ft gym is yours to cross train too!
Having trouble with your diet or keeping the weight off? Stuck behind the desk to much? Keep telling your self you will get in shape FIRST before you join Jiu Jitsu? WRONG ANSWER! JuJitsu will change all that by keeping your mind occupied on technical self defense while changing your body metabolism and encouraging you to crave good foods. You will be burning calories fast but be thinking how you can hold your friend down and submit him in class. The next thing you know, you will be sparring longer and staying after class to drill moves or come in early to jump on the tread mill or push some weights.
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program is and Official Gracie program under Master Pedro Sauer who will frequently visit our gym from Sterling Virginia. We also bring in other very high level world Champions such as Royce Gracie, Georges St. Pierre and Xande Ribero. Classes are taught by high levels purple belts to high level black belts in Jiu Jitsu.
Warrior Gym offers excellent instruction in Gracie, or Brazilian, Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), a martial art that grew out of the Japanese Kodokan Judo of the early 20c. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is prolific because of its effectiveness as a self-defense system. BJJ focuses on grappling and ground fighting in which a smaller, less-advantaged person can use leverage and skilled, proven techniques to submit a larger, stronger aggressor. Students of Ju Jitsu frequently use choke holds and joint locks to defeat their opponents. Though Gracie Jiu Jitsu is well known as a martial art and system of self-defense, it is also considered a sport. Practicing BJJ promotes strength, agility, and cardiovascular and pulmonary stamina. It is useful not only for defending oneself, but also for getting into top shape.
"I started my jiu-jtsu training at Warrior Gym. I knew immediately that it was something I was going to love! The instruction during class is excellent and Josh Aguero, the instructor, is really dedicated to the students, often staying late after class or coming in on his days off to work with us. I'm small and a female; this class gave me confindence on AND off the mat! I got fit and technical enough to hold my own and even SUBMIT guys much bigger than myself. The level of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, under the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu association, is really top notch. I've trained all over Virginia since I've started and so far, no one comes close to how technical this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association is. That being said, Josh trains directly under Master Sauer, so the techniques we learn are amazing!! I highly reccommend this program for anyone looking to get into shape and anyone who wants to learn this incredibly efficient martial art."
